Meet Kevin

Born in the Midwest to a military family, I spent most of my life in Southern California, growing up in a working, middle-income neighborhood in Chula Vista. That experience taught me the value of strong neighborhoods and public programs that support working families and give kids safe, positive places to learn and grow.

Those early lessons shaped my career. I earned a degree in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University. Spending over 30 years in municipal government, I retired as Director of Community Services and Parks for the City of Dana Point. Throughout my career, my focus was on practical problem-solving and building services that respond to real community needs.

My wife Sylvia and I moved to Anchor Bay in 2016 and have made Mendocino County our home. We have been together for over twenty-five years and share a combined family of three adult children and five grandchildren. Being involved locally mattered to us from the start, and I’ve volunteered with organizations including the Gualala Lions Club, Pay-n-Take, Project Santa, Action Network, and the Mendocino Music Festival.

My interest in local government led me to serve two years on the Mendocino County Grand Jury and on the Gualala Municipal Advisory Council, working alongside residents and local, state, and federal partners to move important projects forward. Together, we secured $2.2 million in state funding to refurbish Bower Park, obtained a $1 million federal grant to rebuild the Gualala Community Center, achieved recognition of Gualala as a Census Designated Place, secured the assignment of a resident deputy for the South Coast, and continue making steady progress on the streetscape project.

I’m running for Fifth District Supervisor to bring that same hands-on, collaborative approach to county government. With experience inside municipal government, I understand how government works and the ability to navigate it effectively. My commitment is to stay engaged, listen carefully, and work hard to deliver practical solutions for all communities throughout District 5.
